We have already tried many kinds of treatments. From chemical spotons and collars over natural ones with extreme citronella fragrance. We even bought a organic-bug-tick spray to try out.
Chemical treatments are of course absolutely high effective. What is bothering me the most is the fact, that those toxines are really poisanous and that they spread over the skin into the whole nervesystem / systemic circulation of the dogs. Furthermore the sentence in the leaflet: „ Do not touch the dog during at least 6 hours after you gave him the treatment“ is irritating me extremly.
But because i also wanted to be absolutely shure that my dogs and i have no tick terror during summer, i bought every year the chemical collar. We never had ticks and this was great. My internal anti attituede against those chemicals was not disappearing at all.
Last year i got once more a hint from a dogfriend. I was greatful for the information but it did not make me super euphoric. I bought the egyptian black cumin oil and started the attempt. A couple of drops daily into their food and after 2 mounth the dogs have an evaporation that we humans can not smell but the ticks think it is super unattractive. Because i but some more drops from the oil into my dogs food we experienced the effect already after one month. Gizmo had in total 4 ticks and Willow 2 over the whole summer. Now those distgusting little animals and i am positively surprised surprised and very happy with this healthy and natural solution for my doggies.
Egypian black cumin oil ist super healthy and contains beside the anti-tick-effect many positive features for our fury friends, but also for us humans. For all of you who are interrested into the scope of application and operation i recommand the following link:
http://www.schwarzkuemmeloel.info. In Switzerland you can get the cdVet Ägyptisches Schwarzkümmelöl online at http://www.cdvet.eu/shop or https://www.nu3.ch. cdVet Naturprodukte GmbH is a swiss company who is specialized in natural animalhealth concepts.
As an extra protection in the beginning of the cure you can take some coconutoil into you hands, rub them and pet your dog over head, neck, cest and legs befor you go on your walk. Tick hate coconut oil too.
In the next post of doctor nature i will present you togheter with Doris Luccaroni from Tierheilpraxis BEO more natural tick-protection possabilities.
We wish you lots of joy and success while trying and changing on natural plantpower
In love, your Dogness

Truffle dream-team Gizmo&Andrea? In the newly started truffledog-apprenticeship we are working on our skill. Every dog is suitable for this training. No matter what size, breed or mixed-breed. It takes a patient and months long build up of the skill before the dog gets into a kind of truffle-search-routine. Humans observation gift is highly required and crucial in finding truffles. When i miss or misinterpreting Gizmos pointing sign and give him then the wrong signal, the truffle-search works poorly. The truffle-dog-apprenticeship is therefore as challenging for our dogs as us dogowners. Humans often have difficulties to trully trust the nosework of our doggies. Fortunately little Gizmo is showing me the locality very clear. He is digging, then is looks at me and waits…of course for his reward. But there are dogs who only dip once on the ground and walk away or some dig the truffle out and eat them immediatly. We will keep you up to date with our success stories and wish you all a happy weekend.

Blogging? Me? About dogs? Honestly, this was unimaginable until recently. But life is holding always some nice surprises for us ready. Certain things arise spontaneously unplanned and push us in a very magical way into the appropriate and matching direction. In my daily life with my doggies, knowledge and experience accumulated quite a bit. I want to use this blog to text about topics related to our furry social partners called dogs. Founded researched from various angles presented with a pinch of lightness and humor. The following categories were selected for this:
My street dog grenade talks about inside happenings of our dog walking services. Funny and adventurous stories from dogs, who spend their holidays with their humans in wintery Grindelwald and got picked up one day by a foreign blonde and got taken on a walk.
What is going on in the insight of dogs? We spotlight their thinking, their emotions, their communication, instinctively-impulsive behaviours and the intentions behind it. Dogness goes on treasure search in a bouffant and diverse world of literature from dog behavior experts, researchers and scientist of the canis lupus familiaris.
Many ways end up in Rom (a figure of speech). What is working for one dog is maybe not working well for another. Only a matter of teaching or pure human failure? It will get exciting, varied and the diversity of methods is impressive.
Everyone meets/chooses/gets the dog that he needs? Or is finding us the dog who needs us? About the true gifts that dog-human/human-dog connections really give us. Just open your heart and allow it to be.
Many from humans developed treatment methods in human-and veterinary medicine have a very denaturalized view on desease pictures. But you can also do different. Impulses for that we want to give in this posts.
Here are images talking with just one sentence.
A jungle, because it is different in every canton (state). Of course we will question some curiousities and amuse us a little about the „over-bureaucracy“ of Switzerland.
Headlight on for the projected human terms of interests into dogs and its histories. Guaranteed interesting, revealing and promoting understanding.
Of course our categories can change, grow or maybe desappear again, so we reserve this right for us. The dogness blogs will appear about two times a month. Via facebook you can comment our blogs, join conversations and exchange point of views with other blog-readers. So please „like us“ soon.
Dogness is very happy to start this journey with you and will remain, until the next blog, with holiday greetings from the beautiful Eiger valley.
PS. Please note that my English skills are not perfect and you will find many grammar mistakes….but i am working on improvement.
